Synthesis Of Silica Glasses Doped With Siaion Phosphors By Supercritical Drying

Silica gels and glasses doped with SiAION phosphors have been synthesized by the sol-gel method. Only after half a day of supercritical drying, the dried gels with many mesopores and high surface-specific area were obtained. The chromaticity of the gels can be controlled to vary widely from blue to yellow by changing the heating temperature, SiAION concentration, and sample thickness. The thermal dependence of photoluminescence of the glass is similar to that of SiAION powder.
