Switzerland - Taxes On Glass Beverage Containers

The laws on beverage containers in force in Switzerland since 1990 have been revised, according to a report. The new laws became effective on 1 January 2000. The change involves glass containers, on which a prepaid tax will be levied for capacities greater than 0.15 litre. The tax depends on the bottle size, with a maximum of SFr0.10 per container. It is levied on both glass container producers and importers.
