Swiss Vetropack Holding AG said March 2008 that net profit more than doubled as demand for glass packaging in Europe rose. During fiscal year 2007, Vetropack Group achieved outstanding revenue & income growth. Consolidated gross revenues reached CHF 699.6M, exceeding 2007's total by 17.6%. EBIT almost doubled to CHF 132.0M. Consolidated annual profit increased by over 133% to CHF 100.9M. Demand for glass packaging has been rising steadily throughout Europe for over 2 years, benefitting not only Vetropack Group, but the whole EU glass industry. In this positive market environment Vetropack increased its unit sales to 4.26BN. Two thirds of sales were in the domestic markets in which Vetropack Group has its plants.
