Swarovski Opens New Store In Vienna

Austrian crystal jewellery and giftware manufacturer Swarovski opened a second store in Vienna's Kaertner Strasse on 7 December 2006. The company has already doubled the area of its stores. The existing store in Kaertner Strasse 8 is unable to fulfill customer demand, especially during holidays such as Christmas, Valentine's Day or Mother's Day, according to Swarovski Austria manager Rudolf Wolf. The new store in Kaertner Strasse 9 will focus on seasonal collections of jewellery, accessories and home decoration products. Swarovski bought the Theyer & Hardtmuth stationary store in Kaertner Strasse, which was closed in the middle of 2006. The new store has three floors and together with the existing store on the same street has created 55 jobs, rising to 70 at peak times, Mr. Wolf said.
