A bismuth-strontium-calcium-copper-oxygen glass-ceramic was prepared by rapid quenching of the melt and recrystallisation of the glass during various heat treatments. The recrystallisation was studied by differential thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and resistivity measurements.
