Sub-Stoicheiometric And Non-Destructive Determination Of Trace Impurities In High-Purity Optical Glasses By Neutron-Activation Analysis.

Copper, Mn and Pt, the induced radio-nuclides of which are shorter-lived than the 24Na produced from the matrix, are determined by methods involving chemical separation; 14 other elements can be determined non-destructively. Irradiation was carried out in a thermal neutron flux of 2x1013 to 7x1013 n cm -2s-1.
