Study Of Thermal Stresses In The Annealing Of Sheet Glass

Calculations of the normal strain should be made using the expansion coefficient determined at the T point. The method at present used to control annealing of sheet glass should be supplemented by measuring the stresses normal tot he plane of the ribbon. The limit for end strains can be greatly increased and thus facilitate faster cooling of the ribbon and faster annealing schedules.
