A Study Of The High Temperature Chemistry Of Glass Making Materials By Ftir Emission Spectroscopy

The development and construction of a 3-phase d.c. stabilised electric arc plasma furnace for fundamental glass melting studies is described. An FTIR spectrometer is used to record spectral data from the hot plasma melting zone during both batch feeding and static crucible melting.
