Study Of Glass Temperature In Forehearth Of A Unit For The Production Of Sheet Glass Without Floaters

Immersion pyrometry was used to study the relationship between glass temperature in the various sections of the channels leading to the drawing machines and the temperatures of the superstructure in the working end of the furnace. Variations were revealed in the flow in the centre and the side of the forehearth. Recommendation are made for improving the temperature distribution across the forhearth and in depth.
