Structure And Properties Of Zinc Vanadate Glasses

Glasses containing vanadium oxide have a promising application potential because of their interesting electrical, optical and catalytic properties. However, V205 is not a typical glass former oxide and thus binary vanadate glasses can be prepared in a large composition range only by fast cooling of the melt. Whereas alkaline earth and lead vanadate glasses already have been investigated, the structure and properties of binary zinc vanadate glasses still require investigation.
