A Structural Model For Low Silica Content Calcium Aluminosilicate Glasses

A new structural model is proposed to explain the maximum in Tg observed in the 5-15mol% SiO2 content range of calcium aluminosilicate glasses with low silica contents, and a correlation between Tg and the concentration of O2 minus, determined by electron spin resonance, is presented.
