Strontium Calcium Aluminate Glasses

Glasses containing (mol%) 0-17 SrO, 45-70 CaO and 30-40 Al203 were produced by conventional melting techniques. The addition of SrO markedly improves the glass forming tendency up to the limits of glass formation. The density and refractive index increase and the glass transformation temperature decreases as Sr0 replaces CaO.
