Stresses In Azs Fused-Cast Blocks During Heating

The heating of a glass furnace is a critical period for the thermomechanical behaviour of AZS fused-cast refractories. Control of the heating procedure has remained largely empirical, however. This paper details the results of a study of the stresses that develop in the refractories during heating and looks at ways of minimising them.
