Steps Toward The Solution Of Tin Bath Block Peeling Problem In Float Glass Lines

Based on extensive investigations on used tin bath blocks and tin bath block "peelings," theeoretical reflections lead to the most probable causes of the formation of peelings. Following this, Glaverbel has formulated its conception of how to combat the peeling by avoicing deep alkali penetration into the blocks. Once this is achieved, flakes will not come off any more. Based on this, VERRAL40FT has been developed, a material that meets the stipulated requirement, but at the same time also accomplishes all other property requirements concerning elasticity to avoid floaters and low H2 diffusivity to avoid bottom bubbles.
