Steklarna Hrastnik To Build Eur 27M Plant For Tableware And Containers

Slovenian glassmaker Steklarna Hrastnik said on October 7th that it would shortly begin building an EUR 27M plant for special purpose glass and expected it to open in the autumn of 2005. "We plan that the plant will be built in around 10 months, which means that production can being in September or October 2005," said a company official. Steklarna has hired Slovenian construction company Rudis to build the plant, which will also produce tableware as well as glass containers. It will be located in the Podkraj Industrial Zone near Hrastnik, in central Slovenia. The plant will employ 210 people and will have an annual capacity of 33,000/tpy. It plants to sell its products in the European Union.
