The biggest and most obvious factor influencing the supply and cost of raw materials in 2010 is the slumping world economy. Generally speaking, decreases in capital investments and private construction have eased supply constraints and price difficulties, even in markets, such as bauxite, where serious problems were looming just a few years ago.
