Standardization Of New Kinds Of Building Glasses

The specificity of the process of standardization is considered for multilayer building glass as an example. The range of glasses used in the building industry has substantially widened in recent years, in many countries. Various visionproof, coloured, film-coated, multilayer and figured glasses, devitrified glass ceramic tile, and other products have appeared on the market. Each of these proudcts has characteristics that distinguish it from the other ones and is useful for the consumer. At the same time, all of them should meet general requirements ensuring the safety of their use, interchangeability, and compatiability with other products. Therefore, standardization is a very important stage in the development and production of new materials. (article refers to International standards)
