Standard For Autoglass Repair Approved

The National Glass Association (NGA) has announced that the Repair of Laminated Automotive Glass Standard (ROLAGS) has been approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The NGA served as the Secretariat for ROLAGS development. The NGA is a certified ANSI standards writing body that operates under guidelines, NGA Procedures for Standards Developing Committees (SDC) to develop and maintain standards approved by ANSI. The NGA does not control the making of standards but, rather, is a "certified host" to a gathering of industry experts who, together, decide on a consensus approach to an issue, in this case windshield repair. All ANSI standards are developed by "balanced" Standards Development Committees (SDC) populated by representatives from the industry that responds to a public invitation to participate. The ROLAGS SDC is an example of such a "balanced" committee since it enjoyed the participation of windshield repair system manufacturers, glass manufacturers, windshield repair and replacement retail practitioners, trade associations and other "interested parties".
