The construction industry in Sri Lanka is growing so fast that suppliers of architectural glass sometimes can't keep pace with demand. Almost the entire demand for glass is met by imports. All major glassmakers are represented in Sri Lanka through agents. This article takes a look a the economy in Sri Lanka, together with national statistics and comments on the present building "boom" - which started after a ceasefire between Tamil Tiger rebels and the government in 2002, that provided a respite from war for 4 years, allowing the economy to gather steam.
