The contemporary American glass industry may be described as being in essentially good health; on an annual basis, its four sectors - container, flat, speciality, and fibreglass - together yield over 20M tons of product worth a total of US$30BN. The second part of this study, dealing with environmental issues and innovation strategies, follows on from this article.
