Spinning Has Advantages For Tableware Forming

CMT of France manufactures a range of spinning machines incorporating 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 12 and 18 sections. According to the company, spinning technology can provide significant advantages, both in terms of the technology itself and as regards operational costs when comparisons are made with some pressing operations. For example, in spinning operations the gob falls free into the funnel, without the need for a drop guide and is perfectly centred in the mould. The article is formed by centrifugal force alone, which means that there is no contact between the plunger and the surface of the article and a finish free from cracks is obtained.
