Spectral Properties Of Bi-Er-Yb Triply-Doped Borosilicate Glasses With 805Nm Excitation

Spectral properties of Bi-Er-Yb triply doped borosilicate glasses with different concentrations of bismuth were investigated. Broad absorption bands appeared at 300-1700nm and the emission bands in near infrared and visible wavelength regions from E43+ and Yb3+ ions showed efficient enhancement in peak intensity due to the incorporation of bismuth upon excitation at 805nm. Possible energy transfer mechanisms of E43+, Yb3+ and bismuth ions were proposed.
