Speciality Glass Minerals - The Defining Ingredients

Of all the sectors of the glass industry, speciality glass is probably the most diverse in terms of raw materials used as well as variety of end products. More so than with most other glass products, the introduction of often very small quantitites of special raw materials is vital in producing the particular characteristics of the finished product. This article reviews these fine tuning minerals and examines their applications in speciality glass. For the purposes of this article, speciality glass products are those other than container glass, flat glass and glass fibres, and the speciality glass sector is subdivided into scientific and domestic glass products.
