Specialised Safety Window

A window that maximises ventilation while minimising the risk of self harming has been developed for hospitals by architectural aluminium systems supplier Kawneer. Using proven design from its sister company in Holland, Kawneer's AA horizontal sliding windows has anti-ligature features such as a wrap-around gasket that break into harmless pieces when there is an attempt to remove it, together with a streamlined handle that cannot be used as ligature point. The window various safety functions, with easy to operate functions and key lockable restrictions in compliance with HTM 55 and BS 8213 regulations.
