Spear, supplier of clear film labelling systems, has introduced the Spear 1600 lS series of incline beverage labelling equipment. The machine is specifically designed for the high speed application of clear film pressure sensitive (PS) labels but can also combine PS with paper glue or hot melt labelling. The rotary platform allows for speeds in excess of 900bpm on both glass and plastic bottles and it is equipped with six M140 label heads which are capable of dispensing PS labels at 140m per minute. downtime is minimised by the label heads which switch over automatically at the end of each roll, and the application heads on slide mounts enable the operator to re-thread a label head while the machine is in operation.
