[Spain] Saint-Gobain Cristaleria: 25M Euros Investment To Develop New Fabrication Line

Saint-Gobain have announced they will invest EUR 25M in its plant at Avilés for the development of a new special glass fabrication line for flat screen & renewable energy applications. The company says the investment will give substance to the research carried out at the Saint-Gobain Cristalería R&D Center in Avilés. The investment makes it possible to progress from the pilot project to industrial production on a large scale. The company expects to launch production from the line, largely equipped with technology developed by the R&D center's engineers, in the 2H of 2008. The center has accords with universities & private R&D centers & acts as the technical support center for glass plants in Spain & Portugal.
