[Spain] New Flat Glass Processing Facility

Madrid-based Técnicas de Vidrio Transformado, S.L., plans to launch production from a new plant at Ponferrada (north-west Spain) in 2008. The company will invest EUR 35m to build the flat glass processing facility on a 112,500 sq m site. Producing for the construction sector, the plant will be equipped for laminating, tempering, silk screen printing and coating, as well as having a double glazing line. Work on the plant is expected to commence shortly for completion in the 1H 2008. Técnicas de Vidrio Transformado was set up in February 2007 with a social capital of EUR 4,000 by Francisco Javier Prado Ovalle and Alberto Fernández Sutil. The former is a member of the Prado Ovalle family which founded Vitro Cristalglass, S.L., and remains a 40% shareholder in the glass processor controlled by Mexico's Vitro (60% of the share capital).
