[South Africa] Nampak To Double Capacity

Packaging company Nampak recently announced that it plans to double production capacity at its glass making unit by January 2014. It is seeking to become a more dominant player in South Africa. The company will add a third furnace to its existing glass production line at a cost of R 1BN (US $112.3M), doubling capacity to 200,000/tpa. Nampak investor relations manager Graham Hayward said: "We have a 20% market share on the glass side in South Africa and some customers want us to become a bigger supplier."
