Nampak Wiegand Glass, located in Roodekop, S Africa, was equipped with a complete cold end at the beginning of 2007. As the result of a long-standing cooperation between the two companies, Wiegand Glass awarded MSK, a manufacture of packaging and handling system components, with he contract to supply the system. In total, 8 Triotech high speed palletisers, two Paratech/Recotech shrink wrapping lines, 2 Linktech Duo shuttle cars and a central pallet dressing line have been delivered and installed at the cold end in Roodekop. The Triotech palletiser has been developed to handle up to three layers a minute and operates like a swivel arm. The benefit of this system is that hut the arm is "servo steered" meaning that the weight that moves is reduced to a minimum, saving time on maintenance and reducing the number of spare parts.
