Soldering Of Glass Materials Using Diode Laser

This article presents experiments and results obtained in a research project for the development of a housing sealing technology by means of lasers using both glass and metal solders, for soldering two glass plates in atmospheric conditions. A diode laser with scanner head was built into a hermetic chamber, with samples supplied via an airlock and handled with gloves. Thermal load at the functional element was reduced to a minimum, thus developing hermetically closed connections.
