[Society of Glass Technology] Developing The Knowledge And Skills Of Industry

The founding of the Society of Glass Technology (Society of Glass Technology) in 1916 was influenced by the impact of global circumstances on UK glass manufacture and a need to develop the knowledge and skill base of manufacturers. This followed WES Turner's writing in the press of the need for industries and universities to collaborate. As the Society of Glass Technology approaches its centenary, presenting an opportunity to celebrate members' achievements in a changing world, there remains a need for collaboration in the development of the knowledge and skills base of industry.
