A new lead crystal name on up-market department store shelves does not necessarily mean the arrival of a new lead glass crystal producer. Steklarna Rogaska, for example, began making glassware in 1927, but only decided to market its own designs directly as Rogaska Crystal in the late 1990s. This paper looks at Slovenia's biggest exporter to the US to find out about the "old" glassworks behind a young and rapidly emerging brand.
