Sisecame Goes For Growth In Bulgaria

The largest tableware glass furnace in the world began production in August. Sisecam's factory in Targovishte, Bulgaria, has eight production lines and a capacity of 54,000/tpa, making the firm the second largest tableware glass producer in the world. Sisecam invested US$70M in its first factory in Bulgaria, which was completed in 12 months. The factory employs 580 workers and its annual turnover is expected to be around US$55M. Over 90% of production will be allocated to the EU market. The Sisecam Group has annual sales of US$1.8BN. The investment in Bulgaria is part of the firm's strategy to become leaders in Central and Eastern Europe, and to increase the market share of the group worldwide.
