Single-Mode Dispersion-Shifted Fibres With Effective Area Larger Than 80Um2 And Good Bending Performance

Increasing fibre effective core area will greatly reduce the performance degradation due to fibre nonliner effects in amplified lightwave systems. Low-loss single-mode dispersion-shifted fibres with large effective areas, over 80umw at 1550nm, with good bending performance, have been developed.
