Silica - Occupational Exposure Limits

The HSE are considering reducing the Maximum Exposure Limit (MEL) for respirable crystalline silica dust from 0.3mg/m3 8h Time Weighted Average (TWA) to 0.1mg/m3 8h TWA. to further complicate matters, the EU are also discussing lowering the MEL for silica, but even further, down to 0.05mg/m3 8h TWA. No date has yet been announced by the HSE for this proposed reduction in MEL for silica.
