In this paper the parameters involved in the processing and sintering of SiC powders are studied by using B and C as sintering aids and a conventional forming method (isostatic pressing) followed by presureless sintering in an inert atmosphere. The influence of the starting powder and the type and concentration of sintering aids on the density evolution are studied.
