Shining Through - The Functionality Of Anti-Soiling Coatings For Solar Applications

This article describes a self-developed soiling procedure to compare different surfaces in regard of their anti-soiling properties. In a market survey coatings are pre-selected and organised into groups by their physico-chemical properties. A hydrophobic and a hydrophilic coated glass sample, as well as the photocatalytic layers for subsequent coating applied to identical glass substrates, were tested. The results are discussed in this paper.
