The Shift Towards Process Control

Investment costs in the glass container industry are escalating due to continued outlay on inspection lines at the cold end. Despite these investments, the industry is still unable to identify every single defect. Meanwhile, customer expectations are steadily increasing and the image of the glass container industry is at stake every time we read about consumer product recalls as a result of glass deficiencies. In this article, the author argues that by applying effective process control to the hot end, the glass industry can lower production costs and emissions.
