Selenium Precipitation From The Flue Gas Of Glass Melting Furnaces (In French)

Selenium is often used in glass production as a colouring agent, or as a physical decolourizer. Concerning gaseous emissions, selenium is classified toxic, with an exceptional emission limit of 3mg/Nm3 if used as a raw material in the batch. It is well known that selenium is volatile under glass melting conditions, so that in the flue gas of the glass melting tank concerned, comparatively high concentration are measured, largely exceeding the emission limit mentioned. It is further known that most of the selenium in the flue gas is gaseous. This article asks how can the selenium concentration can be reduced to zero?
