Seaglaze Invests In New Production Plant

A £1M investment into a new glass toughening plant is set to help Norwich manufacturer Seaglaze Group target £3M in sales for the first time in its 44y history. Investment in a new plant will allow Seaglaze to produce its own toughened glass for the marine industry and offer a 48h repair service for high-end glass. The Rackheath-based company, which produces specialist windows, door and hatches for the marine industry, had been frustrated with slow suppliers and decided to "re-shore" production after experiencing delays and shortages. The decision was made to invest in a new plant after strengthening demand from the agricultural and construction sectors began to heap pressure on its supply chain. The new factory will produce toughened glass for the marine industry, creating six additional jobs initially. Seaglaze also offers a 48h repair service for high-end glass, a service that usually takes between two to six weeks.
