Sculpture Made Of O-I Bottles

UK artist Oliver Ashworth has created a sculpture using 160 green Bottlegreen bottles produced by OI. Ashworth took inspiration from an elderflower blossom for the 2.2m-tall stainless steel/glass sculpture that appeared at the Cartier Int Polo this summer. The sculpture, called 'Glass and Light' uses 160 of the drinks company's 500ml bottles that are cut to various lengths & screwed into a cap set into an illuminated sphere. Ashworth worked with OI to explore various ways the bottles could be used in a sculpture that complemented the Bottlegreen brand. The project took 2m to complete. Bottlegreen MD Simon Speers said: "We are pleased that OI worked with Oliver to create this exciting piece for us. Oliver has managed to create a sculpture that reflects the quality products whilst highlighting the craftsmanship that goes into the development of drinks."
