Portasilo has completed a project for Quinn Glass, UK. The proejct involved installing a flue gas scrubbing system at the Derrylin plant in Co Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. The system comprises two 3500mm diameter silos and three lean phase pneumatic conveying systems, one of which is for high temperature operation. The equipment has been installed to ensure that the plant fully complies with the latest, stringent EU protection legislation. The first of the silos is to store hydrated lime and is complete with all the necessary filtration and level controls required for the control of a potentially hazardous product. The second of the silos stores precipitator ash. This one is also fitted with all the necessary filtration and level controls for the control of a potentially hazardous product.
