Saint-Gobain Sells Bottles Business

Desjonqueres flaconnage manufacturing business was sold early in 2007 to a consortium of venture capitalists from Canada & France. Saint-Gobain it seems is changing its corporate direction with the pending sale of Saint-Gobain's Vetrotex reinforcements interests to Owens Corning and now it is widely anticipated that SG will sell Emballage, its remaining glass container manufacturing business. The new SG CE believes the sale process could begin soon. It is unlikely that a single organisation could find the Euros 2.5BN expected to be needed to buy the Emballage sector as a whole. In France alone there are 6 plants with also 5 in Germany, 6 in Italy, 2 in Russia 3 in Spain and other sites in Poland, Portugal, & the Ukraine. This article takes a look at just what is on offer here.
