Saint-Gobain Sekurit (SGS) in Eslöv, Sweden, has a 45% share of the Swedish market for automotive glass and is ranked fifteenth in a newspaper list of the most profitable autopart firms in Sweden. Profit at the Swedish unit rose by 30% in 2005 to SEK 43M (USD 5.93M) and sales were SEK 477M. The only other main player on the Swedish market is Pilkington. The Eslöv factory makes side glass for vehicles, while other glass components are imported from other European operations. The Eslöv factory has recently developed a type of glass that repels water from windscreens and previous developments include glass that improves in-car acoustics.
