Pierre-André de Chalendar, President and CEO of Saint-Gobain Group has confirmed to Mauricio Macri, President of Argentina, that Saint-Gobain will launch a new industrial venture in Argentina in August. The company will open a windshield factory using the latest technology which will be based in the Buenos Aires city of Campana. Saint-Gobain which operates in 57 countries has nine plants in Argentina in different provinces, such as Cordoba, Santa Fe, Tucumán, Entre Rios and Greater Buenos Aires. According to an official statement, Mr Macri welcomed the decision of the European company “taking bet on this new era, in which we are beginning to regain confidence from clear and stable rules at this time”. The company estimates that its production will be about 200,000 windshields per year.
