The Saint-Gobain And Ball Corp. Joint Venture

Last June, Saint-Gobain announced to have signed an agreement to form a joint venture with Ball Corp. The new company, Ball-Foster Glass Container Co., is 58% owned by Saint-Gobain and 42% by Ball Corp. In the JV, Foster Forbes and Ball Glass Container Corp., the glass activities that Saint-Gobain has acquired respectively from Pechiney SA and Ball Corp., have merged. These corporate moves will enable Saint-Gobain to become the world's leader in glass container production, with sales of US$4.1m per year, 25% of group turnover.
