Safety Glazing Can Be Positively Identified

Glazing in all new buildings and replacement glazing in general must now satisfy the Building Regulations 1991. Official guidance on how to meet these requirements is presented in approved document N Glazing - materials and protection. This document is complemented by the British Standard, BS 6262 part 4 on glazing. In this paper, the author looks at different types of safety glazing and describes a method by which they can be identified using a small device, even when in situ.
