Safer Glass At A Stroke

Glazed panels around a school swimming pool have been made safe with Armorgard window film from Bekaert Speciality Films. In the event of breakage, the film will retain the glass fragments in the panel to prevent injuries and avoid the disruption of draining and clearing the pooling. The school, in Bridgend, took action when a panel of wired glass on a mezzanine area overlooking the pool cracked and glass shards fell both onto the poolside and into the pool. The 7ml clear film from Bekaert's Armorgard range was recommended and installed by SolarGard Wales. The film has a pressure-sensitive adhesive with minimal visual distortion, a scratch resistant coating and is tested to British and EU Standards, BS 6206 and CEN 12600. Bekaert also manufacture the SolarGard range of solar control films and the DecoGard range which provides screening/decorative effects.
