Russian Glass Still Prospers

The 8th annual assembly of members of Russia's National United Council of Glass Industry Enterprises, known as StekloSouz or Glass Union, was held in Moscow, 4th April 2006. StekloSouz currently has 56 members, which includes 72% of the country's flat glass producers; 60% container manufacturers; 100% machine engineers; 70% glass/quartz melting furnace manufacturers; 60% manufacturers of enriched quartz sand, & 100% refractory producers. This article highlights current trends and statistics regarding glass production in Russia.
