One of the largest manufacturers of glass containers in Siberia, JSC Ekran, are planning a new furnace, their 6th at the site. The new furnace will replace three existing ones in the factory. The new furnace will produce around 260/tons of white glass per day. The new glass-melting complex will include four manufacturing lines that will allow the plant to quickly change the range of products according to the needs of the customer. One of the machines will produce a set of exclusive packaging of irregular shape, such as square and oval bottles. "In the current market conditions, we are required to fully meet the needs of not only the largest manufacturers of brands, but also all the manufacturers of regional and local brands by improving product quality and developing new product ranges. The new furnace has so much potential: we will be able to increase the range, providing a full load of equipment and the ability to perform a variety of local orders," said CEO of JSC, Evgeny Kozhevnikov. The new glass-complex will be able to produce lightweight bottles, reducing the weight of the bottles of 0.5 liters from 360 to 270-280 grams. "With the new method of forming an article strength of the bottle remains the same," Mr Kozhevnikof added. Modern technology in the production of glass furnace number 6 will allow the company to reduce almost twice the gas flow and energy resources. With the launch of the new furnace, jobs will be increased at the plant. Construction of a new glass furnace will take 12 to 16 months from the start of the project financing.
